Beat the winter break blues with Emerald City Theatre Winter Camp! Join us for one week or both as we share beloved stories and create our own, with music, drama, and dance!

Duration

Winter camps are 3 days  or 4 days long, with morning sessions for ages 3.5-5 and full-day sessions for ages 6-10.

Winter Luau | Ages 6-10


Camp Description:

Dreaming of sunnier days by the beach? Join Emerald City Theatre for a winter luau! Campers will use their bodies, voices, and imaginations to create their own tropical island right in the middle of Chicago. We’ll spend three days dancing, singing, and acting to create our own play based on fun in the sun. On Friday, we’ll share a creation with family and friends that’s sure to thaw your toes and warm your heart.

Frozen | Ages 3.5-5


Camp Description:

Arendelle is under the curse of eternal winter, and it’s up to the people of the kingdom to reverse the spell. Campers will explore this frozen wonderland filled with familiar characters and friendly faces. Each day our  teaching artists lead campers on wintry adventures with theater games, storytelling activities and special winter-themed crafts. Campers perform for family and friends on the last day of camp –  you might even hear a memorable tune that you cannot let go!

Winter Wonderland | Ages 3.5-5


Camp Description:

The snow is glistening in this imaginative winter wonderland. Campers explore this magical land where snowmen can sing and dance. Each day our theater teachers lead you on wintry adventures with drama games, storytelling activities and a special winter-themed craft. Campers will showcase their theater skills in a final presentation for family and friends on the last day of camp.

Celebrate! A New Year’s Musical | Ages 6-10


Camp Description:

It’s a brand-new year, and the future is bright! Come celebrate ECT-style as we explore celebratory traditions and throw a massive performance party. Campers will work together to create a play about the celebration of a lifetime! Have a “Funky New Year” with the Eagles, a “Happy New Year” with ABBA, and more. We’ll sing favorite songs, explore treasured stories, and make fantastic crafts to create our very own tale of celebration to share with family and friends in a final performance.

Policies

 Cancellation Policy

Emerald City Theatre has the right to cancel a camp up to one week prior to the start date. Refunds will be processed if a camp is cancelled. 

No refunds available if purchaser drops a camp unless the spot can be filled from the waiting list. If a spot can be filled, a refund will be given after the deduction of a $25 administrative fee. 

Switching of days/titles of a camp will also incur a $25 administrative fee.

Camp enrollment is only valid toward the season enrolled and cannot be applied to a class or camp in a later season.

Potty Training Policy:

A child must be three and a half by the start of camp and toilet-trained to enroll in camp. To be considered fully toilet-trained, a child must be able to communicate the need for a bathroom prior to going, and must be completely independent and able to pull down pants, lift up a dress, wipe and redress themselves without assistance.

Nut Policy

Emerald City Theatre’s classes and camps are NUT-FREE environments. There is a strict no-sharing policy at all of our campuses.

Drop-off/Pick-up Policy

Drop-off begins 15 minutes prior to the start of camp of class. Children must be picked up no later than 15 minutes after camp or class ends. After the 15-minute pickup window closes, a late fee of $1/per minute per child will be charged and due upon arrival.
