Under the Sea Puppet Workshop
Great for your unit on Ocean Life!
Join Emerald City Theatre teachers as they lead kids in creative drama and theatre exercises that bring sea animals to life! Teaching Artists will perform a puppet show based on Swimmy by Leo Lionni (selected by Chicago Public Library as part of the Book Splash summer 2005 reading program). Then the Participants will get on their feet and recreate the story through a variety of theater games using the puppets. They will learn how to use voice and body and imagination to bring characters to life. Kids can even dive into a treasure trunk of professional theatre costumes props and puppets!
45-60 minutes, for up to 30 students
Best suited for K-3rd grade

Extended Residencies
Emerald City Presents…Your School Play!
Dip into the library of Emerald City productions and we'll select one with you for your students to perform. We will bring in our professional teachers to lead a casting and rehearsal process and final performance. Students will have fun getting ready for the final show and we'll ensure they receive valuable professional learning along the way!
