Responsibilities:
  • Lead major gifts fundraising initiatives as a member of the organization’s development team
  • With assistance from the development team and the board of director’s fundraising committee, create and implement an ambitious major gifts plan to achieve current organizational goals
  • Collaborate with development and marketing teams to ensure website and fundraising collateral are up to date and representative of fundraising initiatives
  • Lead all aspects of major gifts including creating and executing strategies for identification/prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition
  • Conduct donor and prospect research, particularly mining the 1000 patrons recently wealth-screened but largely not yet solicited
  • Update and maintain major gift move management in the organization’s CRM (Patron Manager)
  • Actively participate in ongoing reporting to the senior staff and board of directors, in the annual budgeting process, in regular meetings and events as needed
  • Ensure the organization and its mission and programs are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant constituencies with a strong case for support
Professional experiences and the skill set will include:
  • Proven track record of successfully soliciting major gifts above $1000 for a mid-sized non-profit organization
  • Ability to relate well, work effectively, and serve multiple constituencies, audiences, and high-net worth individuals and families
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and presentation skills; ability to make a strong, effective case for support
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of fundraising CRM
  • Sense of personal and professional accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to think innovatively and strategically and to achieve results in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Compensation:

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and is competitive with prevailing compensation for similar positions within the non-profit performing arts industry. This position is part-time, non-exempt at 25-30 hours per week.

Emerald City Theatre is seeking a dynamic leader to drive the vision of Emerald City Theatre’s brand and marketing strategy, and to oversee the execution of marketing and communications around all the organization’s artistic, education, and development initiatives.

Overview:
  • Create and oversee execution of comprehensive marketing, communication, public relation, audience service, front of house, and database management strategies that align with long-term strategic goals, company branding, and artistic vision
  • Analyze patron purchasing behavior including trends, cross-departmental purchases, and retention rates; use findings to create targeted marketing campaigns and deepen patron engagement with artistic and education programs
  • Direct the design, copy, and distribution for all electronic, and print, and public-facing materials and communications
  • Oversee customer experience for all artistic and educational programs
Financial Management:
  • Work with senior staff to set box office goals and sales forecasts
  • Oversee the completion of monthly budgetary reconciles
  • Ensure marketing department’s fiscal responsibility through accurate tracking of expenses and revenue
  • Execute timely and accurate reporting to Managing Director on a monthly basis or as requested
  • Communicate areas of budgetary issue and opportunity to upper management with recommendations for action
  • Manage a departmental payroll and projected cash flow
Sales Management
  • Direct the execution of annual sales initiatives to reach $1.5 million in earned revenue: including but not limited to subscribers, student matinees, group sales, education camps and classes, and in-school programming
  • Oversee the building and administration in ECT’s CRM (or partner ticketing platform) of all performance and education programming, monitor available inventory and employ hold/release strategies whenever necessary to achieve sales goals
  • Lead sales meetings and reporting on recent and upcoming initiatives, sales trends to date, and marketing brainstorm sessions
  • In partnership with Audience Services, be the in-house expert and conduit of customer information, including demographics, purchasing trends and behaviors, and customer needs and wants as it pertains to all areas of company revenue
Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 2-4 years professional work and management experience in marketing
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven work environment
  • Demonstrate ability to analyze and systematically compile technical and statistical information to prepare reports and correspondence
  • Demonstrate skill in project management, print and digital marketing, and research and reporting
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Suite, MailChimp, Google AdWords and Analytics, and social media platforms
  • Must be available for occasional nights and weekends in support of special events, fundraisers, or board meetings
  • Possess a high level of professionalism, initiative, and integrity
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness in solving problems
  • Demonstrate creativity, vision, attention to detail, and strong editing skills
  • Hold a strong work ethic, flexibility and willingness to handle new and different tasks
  • Demonstrate strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills
Preferred:

Operations Admin

Operations Administrator

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that Emerald City spaces are clean, organized and functioning efficiently; make regular inspection walks
  • Coordinate the maintenance and repair of ECT facilities with appropriate landlords and vendors; make small repairs personally when possible
  • Coordinate the maintenance and repair of IT and equipment issues with outsourced IT company
  • Act as the main point person for facility needs during Summer Camp
  • Manage the stock of office and facility supplies; assist in supply orders and manage ink cartridge recycling
  • Maintain the shared use of Emerald City storage spaces
  • Assist in oversight and general maintenance of the company vehicle
  • Maintain logs of company supply and equipment needs for budget planning
  • Act as a facility liaison between ECT and all leased facilities
  • Collect and distribute incoming mail and packages and take outgoing mail to mailbox
  • Assist in workstation set-up for new employees
  • Learn ECT record retention policies and maintain company records accordingly
  • Evaluate current vendors and pricing; recommend new service contracts
  • Assist in data entry and maintenance of human resource platforms including ADP and various benefits portals

Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing; must be able to walk and stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift at least 40lbs
  • Basic knowledge of computers, programs and common IT issues
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; able to drive a vehicle in Chicago
  • Able to multi-task and adhere to deadlines while still responding to immediate company needs with tact, confidence, and humor
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • High energy, positive, “can do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork and high degree of initiative
Compensation
