Age Ranges

Ages 3.5 – 5

  • Early learners develop teamwork and confidence through creative play. 
  • Students explore the actor’s tools: the body, the voice, and the mind. 
  • No script or lines to memorize; students will create their own story! 

Ages 5 – 8  

  • An imaginative exploration of storytelling that emphasizes fun, confidence, and teamwork! 
  • Emerging readers learn simple lines, choreography, and music. 
  • Best for students who have attended full-day school or camp.

 Junior Youth Ensemble: Ages 5 – 8

  • Developing readers work on a more complex script and develop rhythm and movement skill
  • Actors are challenged to create characters and build their self confidence and teamwork

Ages 7 – 13

  • Confident readers will work with intermediate scripts, challenging music, and exciting choreography. 
  • Students will explore and develop acting and vocal technique. 
  • Classes will hold auditions for individual roles, and students will be challenged to develop original and exciting characters. 

Ages 9 – 13

  • Budding young actors will be challenged with more advanced scripts, staging, songs, and choreography. 
  • Teaching artists will provide individualized feedback and reinforce acting fundamentals to help students develop advanced performance technique. 

Advanced Ensemble: Ages 7 – 13

  • Previous training culminates in a professional rehearsal environment. 
  • Students will perform on a professional stage at the end of the session. 
  • This class meets twice per week.
  • Admission to this class is by application only. 

Advanced Teen Ensemble: Ages 12 – 15

  • Our most mature students continue to build professional-level skills and grow as performers in our most advanced class. 
  • Students will perform on a professional stage at the end of the session. 
  • This class meets once per week. 
  • Admission to this class is by application only. 


For Ages 3.5-5

Castles and Crowns

Class Description:

Embark on a journey where dragons, royalty, and mystical creatures roam the castle grounds!  Students will create their own fantasy world, incorporating real and imaginary creatures as they build their self-confidence and learn to work with all the knights of the round table. On the final day, our royals will share some of their favorite games and activities in a presentation fit for a queen!

Class Description:

Superheroes unite! Join us in the hideout and learn to harness your body, voice, and imagination to perform acts of bravery. Students will discover their superpowers through dramatic adventures and mighty movement exercises to help save the world. On the last day of class, we will share some of our epic tales with our family and friends!

Junior Youth Ensemble: The Lion King Kids

Class Description:

Just can’t wait to be king? Join the pride out on the savannah as they make their way through the jungle and back again! Our Junior Youth Ensemble will expand on theater fundamentals and learn hit songs and dance moves, while creating fun characters for our final performance. It’s our problem-free philosophy — Rawr!

Musical Muggles

Class Description:

Do you believe in magic? Hop on your broomstick and join us for an enchanted journey to cast spells, brew potions, and tame magical creatures! Students will conjure up new wizarding characters, then use their bodies and voices to bring them to life. Along with acting fundamentals, prop-making, and plenty of theater games, students will levitate their original characters into a brand new story full of magical music. This final show is sure to leave audiences spellbound.

For Ages 7-13

Advanced Ensemble: Mary Poppins, Jr.

Class Description:

Our Advanced Ensemble students will fly off to 1910 London, all while honing their acting, vocal, and dance techniques. Students will be challenged with rehearsal twice a week to build these skills as they work towards a final performance of magical characters and musical classics. Embark on a full theatrical experience, directed by Emerald City’s finest! The ensemble will present their show on a professional stage on the last day of camp! **An application is required for Advanced Ensemble: Mary Poppins, Jr.**

Best of Broadway

Class Description:

Combining Broadway staples from contemporary hits to stage classics, students will sing and dance their way through musical theater to present a new show made by them! Teaching Artists will focus on the finer details of performing musical theater to help students hone their skills and face exciting challenges. The final showcase will feature Broadway hits, connected with characters created by the students. This class is perfect for students out to take the spotlight!

Mary Poppins, Jr.

Class Description:

Advanced Teen Ensemble:High School Musical, Jr.

Class Description:

Join us at East High, where jocks, thespians, and brainiacs just don’t mix. Students will learn hit songs and challenging choreography, while expanding their vocal and acting skills in preparation for their final performance. Teaching Artists give individualized feedback to help each young artist grow. Cancellation Policy

Emerald City Theatre has the right to cancel a class up to one week prior to the start date. Refunds will be processed if a camp is cancelled.

No refunds available if purchaser drops a camp unless the spot can be filled from a wait list. If a spot can be filled, a refund will be given after the deduction of a $25 administrative fee. 

Emerald City Theatre has the right to determine minimum enrollment. A refund will not be given if purchaser believes the enrollment is low.

Switching of dates/titles of a camp will incur a $25 administrative fee. 

Camp enrollment is only valid toward the season enrolled and cannot be applied to a camp in a later season. 

Nut Policy

Emerald City Theatre’s classes and camps are NUT-FREE environments. This includes, but is not limited to, peanuts and tree nuts, including almonds and cashews. There is a strict no-sharing policy at all of our campuses, including between siblings.

Drop-off/Pick-up Policy

Drop-off begins 15 minutes prior to the start of class. An ID MUST BE PRESENTED at pick up in order to sign out a child. Children must be picked up no later than 15 minutes after camp or class ends. After the 15-minute pickup window closes, a late fee of $1/per minute per child will be charged and due upon arrival.

Student Cell Phone Policy

Cell phones, smart watches, and any other communication devices may not be used while class is in session, including breaks. Students who bring cell phones must keep them in their backpacks and TURNED OFF while at class. Videotaping/recording will be permitted on a case by case basis at the discretion of the teacher for the students’ own at-home rehearsal. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in confiscation of the phone until end of class. If you need to communicate with your child, please call the office, and we will relay information to the class.

Potty Training Policy

A child must be 3.5 by the start of classes and toilet-trained to enroll. To be considered fully toilet-trained, a child must be able to communicate the need for a bathroom prior to going, and must be completely independent and able to pull down pants, lift up a dress, wipe and redress themselves without assistance.
