Camps for ages 5 – 6 are 2 weeks long per session.
Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
(No camp on Thursday, July 4)

Cost:

Summer Camp sessions for ages 5 – 6 are $750 per session ($675 for camps during the July 4th week).

Aftercare

Emerald City Theatre offers aftercare at our Athenaeum Campus and Waldorf School locations for this age group. 

  • Aftercare hours are 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Parents may pick up their campers at any time.
  • Aftercare cost is $250 per session. No daily rate is available for aftercare.
  • Parents arriving after 6:00 PM will be charged $1 per minute per child.

What To Expect

What To Expect At Camp

Build a fantastical new world and become the imaginative characters who live in it! Spend two weeks bringing your favorite story to life.

Daily Activities

  • Creative drama and movement activities based on theme
  • Play imagination games, learn songs and choreography, and create crafts
  • Learn about the actor’s tools

Skills Developed

  • Build theatrical skills: character creation, ensemble building, and performing
  • Life skills: listening, following directions, teamwork, and risk taking
  • Foster emerging literacy skills
  • Strengthen gross motor skills through movement and choreography

Final Presentation

  • 25 – 30-minute family showcase
  • Mini-play based on theme
  • Campers have roles and some memorized lines

Moana


Camp Description:

Motunui is in trouble and Moana holds the key to the island’s rescue. With the help of demigod Maui, how far will she go to save those she loves? Take to the ocean to tell this story of bravery and self-discovery with songs by Tony Award-winning writer Lin-Manuel Miranda. With memorable characters and catchy tunes, students are sure to sing the songs of Moana long after the final performance.

June 24-July 5

Annie


Camp Description:

Leapin’ Lizards! Join Annie, Miss Hannigan, Rooster, and more as they sing and dance their way to Easy Street in this musical adventure camp. Campers will explore the world of their favorite spunky heroine along with her loyal friends to present a final show you’ll still be humming tomorrow. Remember, you’re never fully dressed without a smile!

July 8-July 19

Peter Pan


Camp Description:

Up, up, and away! Campers will go on a high-flying adventure through the skies above London to Peter Pan’s Neverland home where they’ll create their own scenes based on Barrie’s original book, recent movies inspired by the story, and the famous stage musical. Campers will get a chance to act out their favorite characters such as the Lost Boys, pirates, mermaids, fairies, Peter Pan, and of course, the Darling children. Campers will present a show that’s sure to make the audience soar on the last day of camp!

July 22-August 2

Descendants


Camp Description:

Fairy tales don’t end at happily ever after. When kids of infamous fairy tale villains are offered the chance to live in the United States of Auradon, they leap at the chance. But are their motives good or evil? Campers will explore complex characters from this smash hit to create a final show that examines the choices we all have between good and evil.

August 5-August 16

Tangled


Camp Description:

Campers will go on a tangled adventure following the magical, long-haired princess Rapunzel and a bandit named Flynn as they discover the world for the first time. Campers will learn songs such as “I’ve Got a Dream,” “When Will My Life Begin,” and “I See the Light.” In addition, campers will explore character development, choreography, movement, and stage directions with Emerald City Theatre’s professional teaching artists. The ensemble will present their enchanted show on the last day of camp!

Policies

Cancelation Policy

Emerald City Theatre has the right to cancel a camp up to one week prior to the start date. Refunds will be processed if a camp is canceled.  

No refunds available if purchaser drops a camp unless the spot can be filled from a waitlist. If a spot can be filled, a refund will be given after the deduction of a $25 administrative fee. 

Emerald City Theatre has the right to determine minimum enrollment. A refund will not be given if purchaser believes the enrollment is low. 

Switching of days/titles of a camp will incur a $25 administrative fee. 

Camp enrollment is only valid toward the season enrolled and cannot be applied to a camp in a later season. 

Nut Policy

Emerald City Theatre’s classes and camps are NUT-FREE environments. This includes, but is not limited to, peanuts and tree nuts, including almonds and cashews. There is a strict no-sharing policy at all of our campuses.

Drop-off/Pick-up Policy

Drop-off begins 15 minutes prior to the start of camp or class. An ID MUST BE PRESENTED at pick-up in order to sign out a child. Children must be picked up no later than 15 minutes after camp or class ends. After the 15-minute pickup window closes, a late fee of $1/per minute per child will be charged and due upon arrival.
